What is frostbite? - Duration: 1:39.
Smart Learning for All
What is frostbite?
An ice candy.
No.
Our core body temperature is about 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.
To maintain this temperature, our blood transports warmth to all our body.
But prolonged exposure to cold temperatures can decrease our core body temperature.
No.
Now what to do?
Now, our brain constricts the blood vessels of our limbs.
Diverting blood to the vital organs to maintain their core temperature.
As our limbs don't get sufficient warmth, they start to freeze, giving us frostbite.
Frostbite progresses in three stages.
First is frostnip, in which the surface of our skin freezes.
During the second stage called superficial frostbite, often ice crystals form in the skin.
During the third stage, that is, deep frostbite.
The underlying tissues, blood vessels, bones, etc. freeze and may get permanently damaged.

Is Bangkok tap water safe to drink? - Duration: 7:10.
Alrighty then!
Welcome to the fifteenth video of Bangkok Unmasked!
The YouTube channel that helps you get the most out of your visit to Bangkok city!
If you're new here, please consider subscribing!
In this video I'm going to look at the topic of Bangkok drinking water, and try and answer
a question that I have been asked by pretty much every friend and family member who has
visited Bangkok; Is Bangkok tap water safe to drink?
Before I begin, this video will be broken down into 3 sections:
Section #1.
Bangkok's MWA [The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority], and the World Health Organization's
2011 Guidelines for drinking water quality.
Section #2.
Is Bangkok tap water dangerous, and to be avoided?
Section #3.
So what should you do?
Let's get started!
I'm going to give you the short answer to the question "Is Bangkok tap water safe to
drink?"
right now, and it's; 'not really'!
Here's the thing; Bangkok's MWA will tell you that Bangkok tap water is completely safe
to drink, and meets all the requirements of the World Health Organization's 2011 Guidelines
for drinking water quality.
However, most Bangkok Thai don't drink water straight from the tap, and neither should
you.
The reason why most Bangkok Thai don't drink the tap water is that they're very aware of
the water distribution system through the city.
While the water leaves the water treatment plant meeting all WHO guidelines, it then
has to go through the pipes in Bangkok to get to your faucet, and this is where the
problems start.
The water coming out of your faucet should, and I emphasize the word should, still be
at levels which are within the ranges of WHO Guidelines, but if you compare the numbers
with that of where they were before they went through the pipes, everything gets worse.
According to the MWA's own tests, total solids increase by 14%, manganese by 41%, ammonia
as nitrogen by 63% and, the scariest one, bacteria increased by a massive 218%.
This obviously leads to the question; is Bangkok tap water dangerous, and to be avoided?
The short answer to this question is no!
I have met a number of people who regularly drink the tap water, and have suffered no
ill effects.
One example is ex-colleague regularly used to drink tap water when he ran out of bottled
water and was too drunk, or hungover, to go to 7-11 and get a fresh bottle!
An important note; water from the tap is totally safe for brushing your teeth, showering, washing
the dishes or pretty much every other task that involves water with the exception of
drinking it.
You can potentially do what my brother-in-law does and boil tap water, then refrigerate
it prior to drinking.
Frankly I think that the water, even when chilled, tastes awful but his family of 4,
plus a maid, are extremely fit and healthy!
So what should you do?
I suggest that you either buy bottled water if you're in Bangkok for a short trip, or
purchase a decent water filter if you plan to stay in the city for a while.
My household has one called Fountain by Stiebel Eltron, and it's a lifesaver.
The water that comes out of it tastes great, and it saves lugging water bottles from 7-11.
This is what the Stiebel Eltron Fountain water filter looks like.
To buy a Stiebel Eltron Fountain water filter costs about THB 12,000, and the replacement
filters are about THB 2,600 from Lazada.
We replace the filter about once a year - as soon as the warning light starts flashing,
and it makes the warning sound.
Which is a very annoying repetitive beeping that encourages you to take action and change the filter.
As an aside, some of my friends have large water bottles - often around 18.9 liters - delivered
to their house, or apartment.
This is another way to go, but you're then reliant on the water delivery companies to
get you a fresh bottle, or bottles, when you're out of water.
Another important note.
Many Bangkok residents use coin operated vending machines to get their drinking water.
Bangkok Unmasked would strongly advise you not to do this!
First off, this is what one of these machines looks like in case you haven't come across
them.
This one is just around the corner from my house.
A couple of years ago a survey was done by a subcommittee of the private sector; 'Independent
Organization for Consumers Protection'.
They took water samples from a total of 855 coin operated drinking machines
in Bangkok for testing.
This is what was found.
76.3% of Bangkok drinking water vending machines were installed at inappropriate places,
such as at places covered by dust from traffic and smoke from exhaust pipes of motor vehicles.
The rest was installed near garbage bins and waste water ditches.
55.2% of Bangkok drinking water vending machines had unclean bodies, 42.9% had unclean
valves, 29.4% were rusted, 21.1% were corroded, and 11.2% leaked.
93.8% of Bangkok drinking water vending machines used tap water to produce drinking
water, and only 43.3% of vending machines were given once-a-month cleaning.
Only 6% of Bangkok drinking water vending machines displayed a water quality test, and
only 7% had ever had their water filter replaced!
Clearly not good as they would likely be full of bacteria, and goodness what else besides...
Their conclusion was that drinking water from vending machines in Bangkok is unsafe for
drinking!
We're going to close by saying whatever way you chose to drink water safely, just remember
to drink a lot, and keep hydrated while you're out under the sun!
Anyway...That's it for this video.
I hope that it helps answer the question; Is Bangkok tap water safe to drink?
Expect a new video shortly.
It should be posted in about a week, or so.

Religion vs Spirituality – What is the difference - Duration: 6:29.
Religion vs. Spirituality What is the difference
by Edward Morgan
It has become quite popular in recent years to distinguish between spirituality and religion.
Its true that there are valid distinctions between the two, but there are also a number
of problematic distinctions which often and unnecessarily divide the two fields of thought.
One principal problem with attempts to separate religion from spirituality is that the former
is saddled with everything negative while the latter is exalted with everything positive.
It is important to note the fact that many of the negative things which people attribute
to religions are features of some forms of some religions (usually Judaism, Christianity,
and Islam), but not of other religions (like Taoism or Buddhism).
Religion is spiritual and spirituality can also be considered religious.
One tends to be more personal and private while the other tends to incorporate public
rituals and organized doctrines.
The lines between one and the other may often not be clear or distinct depending on the
interpretation.
Consider these definitions:
Religion is an institution established by man for various reasons.
Exert control, instill morality, stroke egos, or whatever it does.
Organized, structured religions all but remove god from the equation.
You confess your sins to a clergy member, go to elaborate churches to worship, told
what to pray and when to pray it.
All those factors remove you from god.
Spirituality is born in a person and develops in the person.
It may be kick started by a religion, or it may be kick started by a revelation.
Spirituality extends to all facets of a persons life.Spirituality is chosen while religion
is often times forced.
Being spiritual to me is more important and better than being religious.
True spirituality is something that is found deep within oneself.
It is your way of loving, accepting and relating to the world and people around you.
It cannot be found in a church or by believing in a certain way.
Consider the following in favor of the spiritual path:
There is not one religion, but hundreds There is only one type of spirituality
Religion is for those who want to continue rituals and the formality
Spirituality is for those who want to reach the Spiritual Ascent without dogmas
Religion is for those who are asleep Spirituality is for those who are awake
Religion is for those that require guidance from others
Spirituality is for those that lend ears to their inner voice
Religion has a dogmatic and unquestionable assembly of rules that need to be followed
without question Spirituality invites you to reason it all,
to question it all and to decide your actions and assume the consequences
Religion threatens and terrifies Spirituality gives you inner peace
Religion speaks of sin and of fault Spirituality encourages living in the present
and not to feel remorse for which has already passed Lift your spirit and learn from
errors Religion represses humanity, and returns us
to a false paradigm Spirituality transcends it all and makes you
true to yourself Religion is instilled from childhood, like
the soup you do not you want to take Spirituality is the food that you you seek,
that satisfies you and is pleasant to the senses
Religion is not God Spirituality is infinite consciousness and
all that is It is God Religion invents
Spirituality discovers Religion does not investigate and does not
question Spirituality questions everything
Religion is based on humanity, an organization with rules
Spirituality is DIVINE, WITHOUT rules Religion is cause for division
Spirituality is cause for union Religion seeks you so that you create
Spirituality causes you to seek Religion continues the teachings of a sacred
book Spirituality seeks the sacredness in all the
books Religion is fed fear
Spirituality is fed confidence Religion lives you in your thoughts
Spirituality lives in your conscience Religion is in charge of the to do
Spirituality is in charge of the to BE Religion is a dialectic
Spirituality is logic Religion feeds the ego
Spirituality makes you transcend Religion makes you renounce yourself to the
world Spirituality makes you live with God, not
to renounce him Religion is adoration
Spirituality is meditation Religion is to continue adapting to the psychology
of a template Spirituality is individuality.
Religion dreams of glory and paradise Spirituality makes you live it here and now
Religion lives in the past and in the future Spirituality lives in the present, in the
here and now Religion lives in the confinement of your
memory Spirituality is LIBERTY in AWARENESS.
Religion believes in the eternal life Spirituality makes you conscious of all that
is Religion gives you promises for the after-life
Spirituality gives you the light to find God in your inner self, in this life, in the present,
in the here and the now May peace, happiness and universal love continue
growing in your heart.
You are All That Is.

What country is Jerusalem in Trump's proclamation avoids some thorny questions - Duration: 5:22.
What country is Jerusalem in Trump's Proclamation avoids some thorny questions
Washington President Trump recognized Jerusalem as a capital of Israel on Wednesday
But on Thursday State Department officials stopped short of saying whether the u.s.
Believes that the city Jerusalem is actually in Israel that seemingly contradictory policy demonstrates just how difficult it will be for the Trump administration
to implement when the president called a recognition of reality
Trump's decision to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem upended decades of American foreign policy
delighted conservatives in both countries
Ignited protests in the West Bank and cast the future of peace talks into doubt
But it also left any number of political diplomatic and practical issues unresolved
How will US passports identify people born in Jerusalem?
How will the city appear on maps? What's the future of the Consulate General in Jerusalem, and where will the u.s.?
Pay for and build a new embassy in the city or historic political and security
Considerations so often intersect all those questions may be beside the point
It is pretty clear the embassy is not going to move to Jerusalem in the foreseeable future
So it as a moot point for the time being said James B Cunningham a former US ambassador
to Israel and a fellow of the Atlantic Council
the political situation will outrun the technical details of how to move the embassy in the long run
for now State Department officials said there will be no practical change in how the US deals with the status of Jerusalem a
2015 Supreme Court decision for example upheld the long-standing practice of omitting the country on passports for people born in Jerusalem
Effectively giving it a stateless status that won't change
Official said there has been no change in our policy with respect to consular practice or passport issuance at this time said acting assistant
Secretary of state David Satterfield on Thursday US government Maps. Also won't change for now
He said the president s decision speaks for itself
he said he tico beyond that and I am NOT going to go beyond that while Israel sees Jerusalem as its undivided and
Eternal capital the Palestinians also claim East Jerusalem as a capital of their future state
Previous presidents have said that the decision on Jerusalem's capital must come from a negotiated agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians
But even after Trump's decisive foreign policy
pronouncement State Department spokeswoman Heather nowart declined to say what country Jerusalem is in
What country was the President and when he prayed at the western wall an?
Associated Press reporter asked we're not taking any position on the overall boundaries
We are recognizing Jerusalem as a capital of Israel now it responded
There are some questions that you will rightfully have about passports for example about maps
Some of those things we are still working out
Another question whether the president's directive to move the embassy can be completed during his presidency
We are not going to be doing that quickly
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Thursday in Austria we have to acquire a site
We have to develop building plans
We'll have to construct the building so this is not something that will happen overnight
The two most comparable embassies now under construction in Beirut
Lebanon and Islamabad Pakistan are expected to cost more than 1 billion dollars each
They also take years to build the Beirut embassy broke ground in 2011 and is scheduled to open next year
construction on the Islamabad embassy started last year and isn't expected to be completed until
2022 that doesn't include 2 or 3 years of site selection and designed before construction can begin
Finding a site for the embassy will also have the effect of taking the position that the embassy wherever it's located as an Israeli territory
But the u.s.. Position remains at the borders of that territory are still to be resolved by negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and all of the other aspects boundaries of sovereignty we were not taking a position
It asked for the sites to resolve Satterfield said an embassy move could also complicate
consular relations with the Palestinian terror korie's a
Consulate General in Jerusalem located on the Green Line that marks the pre-1967 borders of Israel and Palestine serves as a de-facto
Mission to the Palestinian Authority and is almost completely independent from the US Embassy in Tel Aviv
Closing or combining that facility would treat Israel and Palestinian territories as one state
Leaving it open would effectively put two separate US missions in Jerusalem
Even if the embassy moved Cunningham said the US would likely retain some presence in Tel Aviv
The facility houses about 1,000 diplomatic staff plus homeland security the Defense Department an FBI personnel
The Israeli Ministry of Defense is headquartered there as is every other foreign embassy, and there's a beachfront
ambassador's residence on the north side of Tel Aviv
Could the US ambassador could even choose to live in Tel Aviv and commute to Jerusalem
That's a very interesting question said Cunningham a career diplomat who served as ambassador in Tel Aviv in the George W Bush and Barack Obama
Administrations it has a really nice residence

What is an Escalation Clause & Should you use one? | Edward Hutchinson Tip 16 - Duration: 2:33.
I was going to share with you our secret, how we try to put our buyers, if we're in
that situation in, into the best possible position to secure a property, if it is a
best and final situation. Now what we call this is an escalation clause. Now it
may not be possible to do this in certain states, it is definitely possible
to do it in California and actually we've had some incredible responses and
won over some deals for some of our clients in the past by using it. Now how
this works is obviously, if you're in a multiple bid situation there are three
offers on the house and you're trying to get it for your buyer, the seller's
multiple counteroffer comes out, nearly always it will be offer price to be your
best and final price. So basically you have to say this is the maximum that I'm
willing to pay for the property. Now the same in England, same in the US in that
situation- you're basically bidding against yourself. You don't have the
information of what the other parties are willing to pay, so should you end up
paying $100,000 more than the nearest party even, because they weren't willing
to pay that, they're willing to pay a hundred thousand less than you, you're
paying a hundred thousand whether the demand was there or not. So, you're almost
overpaying and bidding against yourself, bidding against the unknown. Now
we're trying to eradicate that situation and also give our buyer an advantage.
We have a thing called an 'escalation clause'. When we write our buyers
counteroffer to go back, what we do is we say- Offer price to be 10,000, 20,000,
30,000 depending on the the price of the property, how much is going to make it
worthwhile for the owner to take our offer over another's. So ten thousand,
twenty thousand dollars over the highest verifiable offer up to a maximum of-
BOOM! So, you talk to your buyer, the only conversation really you need to have is:
Would you be happy to secure this, if you have to pay ten thousand dollars more
than the next person and decide what your max, you want to pay is,
because as long as you have set your max cap of $2.2 million dollars on a two
million dollar property, you're not going to be paying more than that and you're
not going to pay ten thousand more. I always say, when I'm in that realtor
mindset to my buyer, because I don't want them to be turning around having lost
the property not having paid what they were willing to pay for it and then
turning around and complaining to me afterwards, I will always say
what, what is the number where if you lost it for that number tomorrow,
you would be fine with it. You know, you wouldn't kick yourself and
say- "Damn, I wish I'd gone up any more," because you're not going to be paying that
number you bid 10,000 to 20,000 more, if there's another party that's over your cap
you weren't willing to pay that anyway.
