OF HOMELAND SECURITY THAT WOULD HAVE, AMONGST OTHER THINGS, SENT

100,000 MEMOS OF THE NATIONAL GUARD TO 11 U.S. STATES TO ROUND

UP AND DEPORT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS --

WE HAVE HAD PREVIOUS CASES WHERE THE NATIONAL GUARD HAS

BEEN INVOLVED IN IMMIGRATION RELATED ISSUES ON BORDER STATES

SOMETIMES, BUT THIS WOULD BE AN EXPANSION TO STATES THAT

TYPICALLY DO NOT SEE THIS SORT OF BEHAVIOR, AND CERTAINLY NOT

ON THE SCALE THAT THIS WOULD HAVE ENCOMPASSED.

BY THE WAY IN

TERMS OF THE STAKES HERE --

THIS WAS RELEASED LATE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, THE WHITE

HOUSE RESPONDED --

THAT'S SORT OF ACCURATE, WE FOUND OUT LATER

THAT --

IT'S NOT ACCURATE TO SAY THAT IT IS 100% NOT TRUE, THEY ARE

REPORTING ON A DRAFT MEMO -- IT JUST APPARENTLY DIDN'T GET VERY

FAR ALONG THE DECISION CHAIN.

THE MEMO IS 100% REAL, AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED IT WAS.

TO WHAT DEGREE IT WAS SET TO TAKE EFFECT IS A FAIR POINT.

IT IS A LEAK AND FAKE NEWS AT THE SAME TIME.

I WISH THE MEDIA WOULD BE MORE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT A DRAFT MEMO IS

THOUGH.

IT'S NOT POLICY THAT WILL BE IMMINENTLY IMPLEMENTED.

SO RATHER THAN STOKING HYSTERIA AND FRAMING IT IN SUCH A WAY AS

IF THE NATIONAL GUARD IS ABOUT TO DEPLOY AND RUN PEOPLE UP, I

WISH THEY WERE A LITTLE MORE CIRCUMSPECT, THE AP, BECAUSE

THEY FIRST PUT OUT A TWEET THIS MORNING THAT SAID THE TRUMP

ADMINISTRATION IS CONSIDERING UP TO 100,000 TROOPS BEING DEPLOYED

ACROSS THESE STATES --

THAT'S NOT REALLY AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF WHAT STAGE IN

THE POLICYMAKING PROCESS THIS WAS AT.

IT WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE TO SAY THEY WERE CONSIDERING

AT ONE POINT SOME VARIATION ON THIS REPORT.

I THINK MICHAEL IS RIGHT BECAUSE THEN THE BACKLASH IS,

THEY WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

WHILE EFFECT IS

SOMEONE IN A RELATIVELY SENIOR POSITION THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD

IDEA TO DRAFT THIS MEMO, WHICH GIVES YOU AN INSIGHT INTO THE

CULTURE AND WHAT THEY ARE WILLING TO CONSIDER THERE.

WHICH

IS WORTH NOTING.

BUT THEY WERE NEVER GOING TO DO IT, SO THE END

RESULT IS WORSE THAN IF THEY NEVER LEAKED THE STORY AT ALL.

WE KNOW LESS NOW.

I THINK IT'S REAL, IN THAT SOMEBODY DRAFTED THAT MEMO, AND

HENCE IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED.

IT'S NOT REAL IN THE SENSE THAT

DONALD TRUMP ALREADY SAID YES, BECAUSE HE DIDN'T. THAT'S A VERY

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION.

I WOULD CERTAINLY REPORT ON IT, BUT WITH

CLARITY, AS MICHAEL IS ASKING.

I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T HOLD THE

STORY, IT'S AN INTERESTING STORY.

WHAT I'M WORRIED ABOUT IS

IT WILL GIVE THEM IDEAS, BECAUSE I ACTUALLY THINK THAT IF THEY

DID THIS, IT WOULD HAVE TWO RAMIFICATIONS.

ONE IS THAT WE

COULD BEGIN A CIVIL WAR -- I'M OVERSTATING OBVIOUSLY, IT'S

HYPERBOLE, BUT PEOPLE WOULD FIGHT BACK AND GET ANIMATED ON

THIS ISSUE, UNDERSTANDABLY SO, AS PEOPLE ARE BEING ROUNDED UP.

ON THE OTHER HAND, I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE VERY POPULAR WITH

THE RIGHT, AND I THINK PROBABLY WITH A LOT OF INDEPENDENTS.

NOW

I THINK IT'S OUT THERE AND THEY MIGHT THINK THAT MIGHT POLL

WELL, SO WE SHOULD GIVE IT A SECOND THOUGHT.

AMONG HIS FOLKS

THEY WOULD LOVE THIS.

I'M NOT JUST TALKING THE ALT RIGHT, I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE

WOULD BE LIKE, HEY, SOMEONE IS FINALLY DOING SOMETHING ABOUT

IMMIGRATION.

SO BE CAREFUL HOW WE PROCEED BECAUSE IT COULD

ACCIDENTALLY TURN REAL.

TRUMP SHOULD BE CAREFUL HOW HE PROCEEDS, BECAUSE CAN YOU

IMAGINE HOW MUCH THE CONSPIRACY THEORY WING ON YOUTUBE WILL

FIGHT BACK WHEN THEY FIND OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD WILL BE

INVADING U.S. STATES?

ACTUALLY, PROBABLY NOT.

WE CAN'T SAY THEY

WOULD NEVER DO THIS, WE KNOW THAT ANOTHER EXECUTIVE ORDER

HAVING TO DO WITH IMMIGRATION IS COMING OUT IN THE NEXT WEEK, AND

ALSO THINK ABOUT HOW SOME OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED

IN THE PAST.

THROUGHOUT THE CAMPAIGN TRUMP SAID HE WANTS TO

DEPORT MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, HE TALKED PREVIOUSLY ABOUT SETTING

UP A DEPORTATION FORCE TO GO INTO STATES AND CITIES AND DO

THOSE DEPORTATIONS, HE TALKED RECENTLY ABOUT SENDING THE FEDS

INTO CHICAGO TO DEAL WITH THEIR PROBLEMS, SO THE IDEA THAT HE

WOULD SEND THESE NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS AROUND THE U.S. IS HARDLY

WITHOUT PRECEDENT, FROM HIS OWN QUOTES.

AND LETTER MEMBER HOW THIS FROG BOILED IN THE FIRST PLACE

-- IN THE MID-2000s GEORGE W. BUSH TWICE DEPLOYED THE NATIONAL

GUARD TO THE BORDER.

AND BEFORE THE NATIONAL GUARD WAS FOR

NATURAL OR MAN-MADE DISASTERS, MILITARY PROTECTION OF THE

POPULATION OR CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE, BUSH EXPANDED IT

TO MAYBE THEY SHOULD GO TO THE BORDER, AND OBAMA EXTENDED THE

FEDERAL LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM THAT DEALT WITH THIS

ISSUE.

TO BE FAIR TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION THEY THEN CHANGE

THEIR MIND AND THOUGHT IT WAS LEADING TO RACIAL PROFILING AND

WALKED THAT BACK, BUT TWO DIFFERENT ADMINISTRATIONS GOT ON

THAT WAVELENGTH.

NOW THIS HAS

THE PROBLEM OF, IT AUTHORIZES

THESE TROOPS TO ACT LIKE LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND BY THE WAY TO

ASK FOR PAPERS.

AND THAT'S WHERE THE LEFT WOULD FIGHT BACK A LOT,

BECAUSE ALL OF A SUDDEN THAT FEELS A LITTLE LIKE EAST

GERMANY.

AND NATIONAL GUARDS ARE PRINCIPALLY STATE-BASED,

GOVERNORS ARE THE COMMANDERS IN CHIEFS OF THE NATIONAL GUARD IN

THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES.

SO IN ORDER FOR THEM TO BECOME A TRULY

FEDERAL FORCE, TRUMP WOULD HAVE TO ISSUE SOME KIND OF DIRECTIVE

TO SUPERSEDE GOVERNORS IN STATES LIKE OREGON WE CAN'T REALLY

IMAGINE THE GOVERNOR CONSENTING TO THE SORT OF DEPORTATION

FORCE IDEA.

I READ THROUGH THE ACTUAL DRAFT MEMO, AND IN THE VERSION

WE HAVE IT REQUIRED THE GOVERNORS TO CONSENT TO THIS, SO

AT LEAST THEY WERE CONSIDERING THAT, HE DIDN'T APPARENTLY JUST

THINK HE COULD ORDER THEM AROUND BY HIMSELF.

BUT WHILE THIS IS

THE HEADLINE VERSION OF THE MEMO, THE MEMO HAD MULTIPLE

FACETS TO IT INCLUDING COMPREHENSIVE VIEWS OF ALL

BORDER SECURITY OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES, THE HIRING OF 5000

MORE BORDER PATROL AGENTS, AND ALSO DOING A COMPREHENSIVE

REVIEW OF ANY ACTIONS BY STATES THAT HAS THE DIRECT OR INDIRECT

EFFECT OF PROVIDING FUNDING TO THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO.

SO

THEY WANTED TO DO A REVIEW OF THAT, WHICH IS INTERESTING AS

WELL.

IT ALSO HAD FUNDING FOR A BORDER WALL.

SO IT'S NOT JUST THE NATIONAL GUARD, IT WAS A CONFERENCE

OF SET OF POLICIES.

IN ONE ARTICLE THEY SAID THAT THESE NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS

WOULD NOT YET BE FEDERALIZED.

IT WAS LIKE, THAT DOESN'T SOUND

GOOD.

AGAIN, THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY IN THE MEMO, BUT

BUSH SENT THEM TO THE BORDER, HERE WE ARE NOW DISCUSSING THE

POSSIBILITY THAT THEY WILL BE ON THE BORDER, AND I'M WORRIED THAT

THE TEMPERATURE IN THIS POT IS GETTING A LITTLE HOT FOR US

FROGS.

My name is Robert Schneider,

and I'm gay.

When I came out I was 17 years old

I didn't want to come out and I thought that if I

was going to come out I was going to to be like the

Elephant Man of the town where everybody

looks at you and points and goes

"that's the gay guy over there."

Unfortunately I had to come out because

my mom and dad found that I've been

using the internet for other things

besides school research my father pulled

me aside and my dad's from Brooklyn is a

great guy and he looked at me goes,

"so you know last night you said you were gay"

and I said "yes" and he said

"that's a pretty big statement to make"

I said, "yeah" and he goes,

"are you sure it's not a phase?"

I said, "no I'm pretty sure it's not a phase"

"cuz it's normal to experiment"

and I said, "no I'm pretty sure it's not a phase"

and he goes, "cuz I experimented, a lot

you probably don't want to know this, do you?"

and I said, "no"

and he goes, "doesn't matter what you are

no matter what you are

I'm always going to love you."

I realized through that sense of humor

and through that jovial nature that he had

that I was going to be loved

and if I surrounded myself with people like him

I was going to be okay.

In 2008, California had a proposition on it's ballot

called Prop 8

Prop 8 didn't upset me as much as Prop 2 upset me.

Here was proposition 2 which got passed in California.

Prop 2 said that livestock and poultry needed more room

in it's cages before it was killed for food.

That got passed

people thought it was ok for

poultry to have more room to move which

obviously, yes that's a wonderful thing

but they did not think it was okay for

two men or two women to express their love

that wasn't okay.

The mindset that it's more important for

for animals to have some comfort in this

world as opposed to a certain sect of human beings

that really upset me and

that really angered me

this is not a bang on animal rights by any means whatsoever.

Prior to that, I sort of had led my life

with a little bit more discretion in

terms of introducing myself as a gay male

and after that I realized this is

ridiculous more people need to see us

more people need to know us

because if that's the case, hopefully if this

proposition wherever to come up again

people have a different idea and a

different lines of exactly who they were voting against.

I realized I really can't live in the closet

as much as I had been living in the closet.

Yes I was gay

yes I had boyfriends

but I wasn't leading with them

I realized it was time to lead with it

because like I said if they can put a face to what they're

hating against or what their opposing

I think you're a different ball game at that point.

A lot of my family is from the deep south.

They have very specific ideas and views

on how people should act how people

should think, feel and all that stuff.

And I was talking to some of my relatives and

we're telling that they start every

single morning by watching Ellen Degeneres' show

and that one of the their favorite television shows is

"How I Met Your Mother"

which stars Neal Patrick Harris an openly gay man.

Look at all of the positive images and of LGBTQ members

that we have surrounding us on a

daily basis and no one is talking about

Ellen's sexuality nobody's talking about

Neil Patrick Harris' sexuality.

Think about 15 years ago and think about how

we saw Ellen's face on every single TV Guide

and how when Neil Patrick Harris

came out a few years ago it was a big deal.

I think now what's so inspiring is we

don't talk about it anymore

we talk about their talent

we talk about what they what they bring to a project

what they don't bring to a project

and the fact that everyone in this country

regardless of what their religious beliefs are

can watch these people and laugh and

think and have a good time and there's

never any thought of "oh, who do they go to bed with at night"

That's very very inspiring.

"It" does not get better

because there is no such thing as "it"

what is "it?"

"It" is something that is intangible

you get better

and I get better

and he gets better

and she gets better

and they get better

and when we all get better

improving our own individuality

then we come together to fight

then we are "it"

but do not wait for some ambiguous thing

to come to fruition because it's never

going to come it's just not there

you can only worry about yourself

so if you improve yourself and speak

your truth and own up to who you are and

improve yourself on a daily basis

no matter what is going to be

then it does get better

because you and your friends

they are the new "it"

so improve yourself

take care of yourself

worry about yourself

worry about your friends

but improve you

because once we have an improved you

then we will have an improved "it."

I think we have a problem in this

country and it's a problem that is prevalent

which is I think we put a wall up around ourselves

we have a tendency not to look at what's on the other side

we like what's comfortable to us

we like what is known to us

we judge people and

we evaluate people through our lens

I think we've stopped putting ourselves in other people's shoes

I think we stopped looking at the other side of things

so if you do not look like me or sound like me

or talk like me or have my education

or have my professional experience

or have the relationships that I've had

you need to listen to me and I promise

I will listen to you in return.

Congratulations on your new appointment.

Your new appointment comes with a new title "Madam Mayor," a title which has been

indirectly given to you by your constituents of Mission Viejo, and which comes great responsibility

in how it is used.

With this title, you represent all residents of Mission Viejo, and not just a select few.

In 2016 you attended along with Sheriff Don Barnes the annual National Day of Prayer,

an event recognized by its organizers as a…

"Christian Based" event, located at Potocki Park.

At that time, you were introduced as Council Woman of Mission Viejo Wendy Bucknum, which

was a clear violation of the Establishment Clause.

This violation was clearly spelled out for you in a letter from the Freedom From Religion

Foundation dated June 16th 2016, to which you have yet to respond.

A similar letter was sent to Sheriff Sandra Hutchens regarding Sheriff Don Barnes speaking

at the event.

Her department quickly responded by saying, and I quote, "The Department was able to

determine that our employee failed to meet our expectations in significant ways and a

violation was sustained."

The Sheriff's department clearly states Don Barnes was wrong to speak at the National

Day of Prayer in his uniform and to be introduced by his official title of "Sheriff".

Madam mayor and council.

It is inappropriate to speak at a "Christian Based" event in your official capacity.

This does give the impression of endorsing one religion over another which again, is

a violation.

Madam Mayor, you swore to support the Constitution of the United States and it is time to show

your constituents that you understand this great responsibility.

Including, those who have been unwelcome at the "Christian Based" National Day of

Prayer.

It is my hope that this year, you can be an example of an appointed official who represents

all religious and non-religious people.

I request that you remember your oath and consider to not speak at this years "Christian

Based" National Day of Prayer in your Governmental Capacity.

How to Study Effectively: 5 Advanced Tricks | Must Watch Tip for Students - Duration: 7:39.

What is that one thing you dread most during your school life? Exams!! We all have come

across situations where in we fail to study things and give a poor performance during

our tests. We feel that some of the courses are just too difficult to understand or maybe

there are some courses which we are not able remember? I have seen parents forcing their

kids to study hard but the result is not good most of the time. Lesser did they know that

they were forcing their kids unknowingly towards failure.

You might have come across various trick on internet on how to study which you felt that

you already knew. Those are just basics but what I am talking about here are some advanced

techniques on how to study. This video is dedicated to all the students and parents

out there who can make use of some advanced techniques on how to study or make their kids

study effectively. Hello Everyone, I am Divyanshu. You are watching

Boost Your Brain and in this video I am going to tell you some really amazing tricks which

Trick no 1: Spaced Repetition You might have noticed that if some ad is

played time and again on TV, it gets registered into our brain. That�s called repeating

the information so that we can remember it. Now you might say - Hey, you promised at the

start of video that you will give some advanced tricks but this one is the most basic thing

about study. Well, actually, the trick is not about repeating the information rather

it is on what interval are information supposed to be repeated. Spaced repetition is an art

of studying things at bigger and bigger interval of time. It takes advantage of how our brain

processes a new information that is put in. A German Psychologist Hermann Ebbinghnaus

did a whole lot of research and made this forgetting curve which explains when our brain

forgets an information that is put in. If we look at it, we can easily find out that

we can remember only 58% of what we studied after 20 minutes. After 1 hour it drops to

44%, after 9 hours 36% and so on it goes on to drop till 21% in one month. So what we

need to do is force our brain to remember things what we studied at those time intervals

when it is going to forget most of it. First review must be done immediately. Then second

review after 20 minutes or maybe you can adjust it to 40 minutes. Repeat again if you forget.

Keep reviewing and repeating at time intervals where you tend to forget things. Using this

technique, you can save your forgetting curve from dropping and hence, remembering what

you studied. The best way is to use a SRS i.e. Spaced Repetition Software but I will

give you the intervals at which you can repeat information to memorize it better.

1st Review: Immediately 2nd Review: 20-40 minutes

3rd Review: 9 hours 4th Review: 24 hours

5th Review: 1 week 6th Review: 1 month

Once you start getting results, you can re-adjust the intervals according to what suits your

learning style. Trick no 2: Corson Technique

While we are studying, there are some points where we just hit the wall. If it�s a numerical

problem, we don�t know the next step and if it�s theoretical, we just won�t understand

the concept. In those situations, we ask our professors and that�s where Corson Technique

comes into picture. This technique was developed by Dale Corson, 8th president of Cornell University

and it says that before you ask your professor a question, pause and ask yourself this question:

What is it that I don�t understand? Usually what happens is when we go to professor, we

show our notes and we say that we don�t understand this or maybe we name a topic saying

I have doubts in this topic, but once you ask yourself this question, you will exactly

know where you got stuck and while asking, you can pin point saying � Professor, I

was able to understand it till this point, but this the place where things got a little

bit shaky. Not only it impresses your professor with your preparations and the kind of effort

you have put in but you are also working to practice the art of recognizing confusion.

Most of the time we feel that we are not understanding a certain topic but the truth is it�s only

a few sections of the topic that we don�t understand. Practising this technique makes

us efficient in knowing what exactly our doubts are and we can focus exclusively on that.

Trick no 3: Method of Loci This trick goes back to the Greek and Roman

time and it�s an amazing trick to memorize anything. Memory champions all over the world

use it to memorize almost anything. To let you all know, I have a whole video dedicated

to it so make sure you check that out here. For those of you who have no idea what it

is, well, we use visual memory and memory palace to link and associate things in order

to remember it better. This is an advanced technique which usually helps when you have

a lot of data to work with. You will be amazed to see how good it works and your memorization

speed can improve up to 10 times. Trick no 4: Improve the Pomodoro Technique

Now you may have heard about Pomodoro Technique, most of us talk about it, but in case you

have not, it is a technique where you set a timer for about 25 minutes and you work

only on one task during that 25 minutes session. Then you take a 5 mins break and again you

start for next 25mins session. I think a lot of people do this and it�s very useful but

there are some areas for improvement which a lot of people don�t take advantage of

like: 1. Take a 45 minutes session and 15 minutes

break instead of a classic 25mins-5mins structure. You can experiment with these time intervals

and choose what works best for you. 2. Put a piece of paper next to you during

a Pomodoro session and whenever anything comes up that distracts you, like phone call, texts,

Facebook or anything, write it down. Doing this can help you take care of urgent things

during your breaks and it can even let you know about the common problems that you face

while concentrating. Once you practice Pomodoro sessions over and over for months, you will

exactly know what your problems are and you can effectively work on improving it. Like

if it�s your phone which keeps buzzing, don�t forget to keep it on Do Not Disturb

mode before you start a session, or maybe if there�s some website drawing you in,

you can plan to block it or check it only during the breaks which you get between the

sessions. Trick no 5: Mnemonics

There are three types of Mnemonics: 1. Acronyms

2. Acrostics 3. Rhymes

Acronyms is basically making a word out of first alphabets of something that we want

to remember. The greatest example of this method is VIBGYOR. We use this word to remember

the correct order of colour in which white light disperses into after passing through

a prism and i.e. Violet Indigo Blue Green Yellow Orange Red. Similarly take first alphabets

of things you want to remember and then make a word. Now you only need to remember that

particular word. Acrostics: Now every one of us might have

used this technique at some point of time in our life. I used it many times and the

most common was to remember the names of 9 planets in correct order. So what we do is

we take first alphabets of all the nine plants and make a meaningful sentence out of it which

is easy to remember like for 9 planets: My very educated mother just showed us nine planets.

Now we write down the first alphabets of each word of this sentence and now we can easily

relate that the first planet is Mercury, then Venus, Earth, Mars and so on. Using this method,

you can create a meaningful line to remember a meaningless data in correct order.

Rhymes: In this technique, we put the data to be remembered in a rhythmic form. It is

of great help while memorizing periodic tables. So these were 5 important tricks which can

really help you in studies. There are many more techniques out there which can be used
