Hello everyone, I'm Rebecca, welcome to my channel, and today this is my first video.
I always like to watch Youtube beauty videos and I personally like to follow beauty brands and collect beauty products
watching these beautiful toys makes me really happy, they are literally my spiritual food.
So today I want to join this community chatting with you guys about beauty products, sharing my toys,
also making a record of my beauty collection.
Today my first video is going to share my Jan/Feb favorites of 2017
Before we start, let me specify my skin type and skin conditions
I am combo to oily and acne prone skin
Also some acne scars and freckles on my cheeks so I got problems of uneven skin tone
Some dark circles, fine lines and puffiness under my eyes
So let's get started!!!
The first product is an exfoliating cleansing powder from a Japanese brand called Detclear.
I got this in a drugstore from the trip to Japan this past summer.
This brand makes many exfoliating products.
It contains AHA and BHA
For combo to oily skin, it is really a great product.
I feel like it really cleansed my pores
My skin is like breathing
I use it every night and I have noticed that my skin texture has been smoothed out.
After using it, my skin did not dry out or anything like that
it left moisture on my skin
So I think for combo to oily skins, this is a great product to gently and mildly exfoliate your skin everyday
Next one is morning cleansing wipes from a Japanese brand called SANA.
I also got this from the trip to Japan
I noticed that such cleansing wipes with multiple functions in it is trending in Japan.
The functions include cleansing, toning, and exfoliating.
It looks like this and I think the size of it is pretty decent to use.
I usually use one side of it to gently cleanse all my face.
The other side of it I used it as a toning sheet mask on those dry areas on my forehead.
The size is decent to cover my forehead.
I feel like the wipes are effective in cleansing my face.
I use this when my face is not that oily or dirty in the mornings
On the wipe I can clearly see those dirts or fibers that have been removed from my face
Also the moisturizing effect is nice when it is used as a toning sheet mask
To combo to oily skins, it is not sticky to the touch.
Though this is my first time using cleansing wipes, I still recommend this product.
Next is my favorite eye cream from a Korean brand called Etude House.
It is from their Honey Cera collection.
It is 20 ml which is larger than regular eye creams on the market.
The reason I like this is because it has this metal applicator.
This design can pinpoint the inner corner of my eyes to gently massage those areas.
The cooling effect of the metal applicator helps smooth out my puffiness.
The transparent gel-like texture is easy to absorb.
It did not cause me any allergic reaction like tingling whatsoever.
So I think this eye cream is really good at giving hydration before makeup.
But for eye cream used at nights I prefer something a little heavier cream-like texture
to better deal with problems like fine lines.
So this is a great moisturizing eye cream.
Next I got the treatment lip oil from the same brand Etude House.
It looks like it is the same Honey Cera collection.
I think it is similar to the lip oil from Clarins.
I also got the Clarins one but I found my favorite brand got a similar product
I figure I can give it a try to see if it can be the dupe for the Clarins one since this is much cheaper.
I think this is also pretty good at moisturizing.
The applicator is also similar to that of Clarins one, well, it is almost the same.
It is easy to apply the oil.
Sometimes I was lazy to apply lip mask I then used this lip oil
Yet I also found my lips are moisturizing next morning.
It feels like my lips have absorbed those ingredients, making my lips nourished.
When I went out without any makeups, I still apply this on my lips.
Because I feel like it can smooth out my lip wrinkles and make me look spirited.
So this is really a good lip treatment oil.
Next I got the primer from NYX.
It is a color correcting primer.
The texture is gel-like.
The purple is really subtle, you are not really seeing the color when you blend out.
The gel-like texture is easy to blend.
The effect of this primer is slightly correcting my dullness.
The texture helps blur out my pores and smooth out the fine lines and some tiny skin imperfections.
So this primer can altogether solve my skin problems before makeup.
uneven skin tone and tiny skin imperfections.
So this is a great and inexpensive primer.
Next is my favorite foundation from Chanel.
This was launched not long ago ( in Taiwan) called Les Beige Healthy Glow foundation.
My shade is N21.
I found this shade in the US.
I have tried 10 and 20 in Taiwan but I found both of them too pink and too warm.
So this N21 is more yellow tone which is better suited for our Asian skin tones.
The texture is watery and lightweight.
Thought lightweight, it provides medium to high coverage.
With one layer on, I can get medium coverage.
To those areas I want to cover more, I can build it up to high coverage.
It's not going to look heavy with many layers on because it is really lightweight.
The finish is matte with some natural glow.
I am wearing this foundation today and I did not wear any concealers.
The foundation covers really naturally
I don't like the finish that looks heavily covered.
So I think the finish is like your own skin but better.
For combo to oily skins, it won't show whiteheads when you have the foundation on.
After removing the foundation, I did not experience any breakouts.
Let me check the notes.....
The lasting effect is quite nice.
I have also used this in the summer in Taiwan (hot&humid).
With the foundation on about 8 hrs, it did produce oil and made me shine
But the oil was naturally blended with my foundation, making the finish creamy-like.
It was not flaky or melting off anything like that.
It's also hydrating
Sometimes I have dry patches on my forehead with some foundations
But this foundation I did not experience such problem so far.
So this foundation basically satisfies all my needs.
It is expensive though
I really like this foundation as it provides the finish I have been searching for.
Lightweight, medium to high coverage and matte finish with natural glow (satin finish)
Really like using this.
Next I got the eyeshadow palette from Ciate London.
My shade is the pretty palette.
There are nine shades.
These four shades and this highlighting shade in the middle are matte.
And these four shades are shimmer shades.
The color selection is the reason I like this palette.
There are pink, purple and the warm orange shade which is trending now
Also the gray black shade can be used as eyeliner shade and these shimmer shades.
These colors can create many looks.
It got cool tone shades, warm tone shades and some neutral shades here.
These are the swatches.
The powders are creamy and the pigmentation is great
They are also easy to blend
But for these matte shades you have to build up the colors and blend them
And they are easy to blend out
They can last all day long
I have tried using primer on one eye and no primer on the other eye
I found the eye without primer was a bit creasing but you have to look very close to see that
So their lasting power is pretty nice
I am wearing the pink shade and the purple shade on my eyelids
And I used the warm orange shade to blend those two colors together
For eyeliner, I used the liquid eyeliner first
then mixed the purple and the gray black shade together and layer them on the line to make it look more natural
For the under eyes, I used this shimmer shade on my inner corner to make the look pop
then used the dark purple shade on my outer corner, tapping the color lightly and blending it
I think the shade selection is great for all the seasons so I really like it!!!
Next is the blush palette from Hourglass
This is a recently launched limited edition.
There are three shades, peachy pink, nude gold, and purple plum.
I have swatched them here, starting with the peachy pink, nude gold and then purple plum.
I am wearing the purple plum shade on my cheeks
They are really pigmented so you have to apply them lightly
Use a fluffy blush brush and lightly tap the color
then you can get a really good pigmentation
and they blend like a dream
But remember to apply it with a light hand
or you will get a color block on your cheeks but they are still easy to blend out
And everyone knows that Hourglass's powders are soft and buttery
The shimmers are not chalky
The marbling is for highlighting
So you get three blush shades and some natural highlights
If you don't want to use any highlighters but still want some natural glows you can get that effect by using this
And the most amazing pros of this is the longevity
The colors are always there all day long
So I really like using this and the shade selection is also versatile
You can mix them together or they can complement different looks
So this is really a useful blush palette
Next is a contouring palette from Etude House.
This is also a recently launched product and there are three shades in it.
There is a picture showing you how to do contouring.
Starting from highlight shade, nose contouring shade, and deeper contouring shade.
These are the swatches of them.
This highlight shade is good for everyday look, creating a natural glow.
But the powder quality of this highlight shade is not that buttery as the Hourglass one
So if you apply it without a light hand this shade might show your skin texture
I like these two contouring shades as they are really soft and buttery so they blend very well
This nose contouring shade is more yellow tone so it blends naturally with our Asian skin tones.
I am wearing this nose contouring shade and I think it looks quite naturally, blending into my skin tone
I am also wearing the deeper contouring shade on my cheek bones here
So overall this is a good palette for everyday look.
Soft and buttery powders, easy to blend, colors are great for Asian skin tones.
Next is the powder compact from a Korean brand called Eglips.
The black compact one from this collection is more popular in Korea.
This pink one is infused with some shimmers in it.
But actually there really isn't any shimmers showing when I look at it
And it looks pink in the pan but when applied on my face it doesn't show pink either.
It gives a bit of brightening effect.
I used this as an under eye brightening setting powder.
Because under eye setting powder needs to be soft and buttery and not drying,
It also provides some brightening effect.
It can also be used as whole face setting powder to brighten and smoothen some fine lines and pores.
So I recently like using this and it is also great for touch-up when you are out as it is compact and lightweight
Next I got the lipsticks from Cover Girl.
I am wearing these two shades on my lips.
I use the peachy shade as the base and then the pink shade on the center of my lips.
The texture is really creamy so they are easy to apply and the color payoff is also great.
Yet if you have dry lips or lip wrinkles it might show through.
I really like it because its lasting powder is great.
If you do not use tissue to wipe them off the colors will linger on your lips all day long
So I am really liking them as these two shades complement together.
I also got many other shades from this collection, the nudes, the reds, and the purple pinks.
They are all great to use individually or together.
But these two shades are my go-to shades as they can go with many different looks.
They are really versatile, like them!!!!
Next is the sculpting brush from Real Techniques.
The bristles are dense and soft, not stiff
I usually use it as foundation brush and contouring brush
When used as foundation brush, the angle of it can easily buff in the foundation along these tiny areas.
It completes the base really fast without any streaks.
When used as contouring brush, also the angle helps buff the shades along the cheek bones
It's easy to pick up the colors but no color block whatsoever when put on your face.
It blends out very well so overall a great brush.
Real techniques makes great quality yet inexpensive brushes.
Last but not least is my favorite perfume from Jo Malone.
I pick up this at an outlet recently and this is plum blossom.
This scent is fresh and sweet.
The top notes are like fruity plum, not overly sweet.
The middle notes are flowers of the fruit plum that blossom, a bit of floral,
not overly powdery or sickly heavy to make you dizzy.
I feel like the image of the scent
take Disney princess
it reminds me of Rapunzel
a pure and fresh temperament with some sweetness
It is great for spring and summer as this was launched in 2015 summer
But I think this is also great for winter
Because the sweetness in it can bring out some warm to you
and the fresh scent is nicely mingled with the cool air, bringing a refreshing feeling.
So overall the scent is freshly sweet which is my favorite kind of scent.
A bit sweetness and that sweetness won't get you dizzy, leaving you refreshed.
But the only cons for me is the longevity of the scent. It lasts only about 3 hrs on me.
But I still love it and it has 100 ml so it can last me for a while.
When I smelled it at the outlet I felt like I need to take this as this is really a scent that I rarely encounter.
Really love this one!!!
