hey folks this is rhykker diablo 3 patch
2.5 patch notes have just gone live and
the PTR has gone up and I am
flabbergasted
we'll start by going through the patch
notes here then we'll show you the
in-game stuff a little more in depth so
the first thing that patch 2.5
introduces is the armory finally at long
last it seems season ken will be the
season that brings us the armory that
was shown at blizzcon this is a feature
that allows you to save different builds
for the same character we've been guess
really wanting easy quick your slot for
a long time and this is what the armory
brings i'm going to take a much closer
look at that in a little bit
this will also be the patch that
introduces the promised crafting
material storage changes that we were
shown at bluesky on now instead of those
materials taking up space in your stash
they're going to have their own little
place like blood shards so they don't
take up any room
we don't have a minor change to the
Crusader and that's basically it for
class changes as it is but I suspect we
might see more stuff coming and I'll
explain why in a bit here but the
biggest itemization change coming folks
primal ancient items and yes those are
exactly what you think they are these
are ancient ancients now when ancient
items were first revealed people joke
that
oh you know and how long it was going to
introduce ancient ancient items just
increasingly rare increasingly rare
versions of better and better items and
look here here we start folks just like
an ancient item rolls with thirty
percent higher stats versus a regular
legendary a primal ancient will roll
another thirty percent higher than that
and they are even rare and early
analysis suggests that the odds of
getting an ancient or a primal ancient
versus a regular ancient are the same as
getting a regular ancient versus regular
legendary so in other words instead of
you ten percent chance of getting an
ancient it will now be a one-percent
chance of getting a primal ancient now I
don't know how to feel
how about this my first reaction was
disbelief I I when I first saw these
patch notes on right and i thought this
was a joke power creep has been a very
real thing in this game
that's why I went out to a torment 13
and the greater its just keep coming and
they just keep coming and coming and
accounts so weapons now that can roll
with even more damage
we're just going to continue to see this
power crease so will the planned ND to
increase it up to torment 15 in the next
patch we already have way too many
torment levels and t13 as it is isn't
that challenging once you get an endgame
geared characters so what's going to
happen to be going to complain the 213
is too easy and we'll blizzard keep this
trend what I really hope to see it some
kind of crunch a difficulty crunch with
the torments because we don't need 13
torment levels let alone the 15 that
were bound to be getting soon enough I
could see the benefit of introducing a
new rarer item that takes longer to
grind for because really it doesn't take
long to build a character you know
recently within a week you can have a
fully geared character not everything
perfect but you know ancient weapon full
set all you all the pieces you need to
have an endgame build and this creates
the effect that in seasons the current
life of the Apple three is a season
starts and then for the first 2-3 weeks
there's activity and after about three
weeks the population has died back down
lock as most people have reached their
seasonal goals certainly introducing
something that is that has only a
one-percent chance of occurring this
primal ancient is the way to prolong
that longevity and you know some people
do want that grind some people are after
that in a RPG air beaches are all about
the grind after all but yeah I guess a
part of me wish that it would be
something other than just another thirty
percent more damage maybe some more
interesting effect to it
I don't know what do you guys think
sound off on your thoughts on primal
ancient in the comments then we have
some changes selection area
items specific one such as the Reinhart
Reinhart has been an item that's never
really been in the meta it's possible
early on a life of proposals that there
was a rhyme heart build but it was very
quickly phased out and it's just really
no strong build that uses it will this
change make it viable for meta build the
low property of the power certainly was
a reason why it wasn't being used is a
doubling of it is twenty percent enough
we'll have to be brought even higher and
by the way folks product basically just
means trigger i look forward to seeing
and testing this out but the other item
changes the strong arm bracers basically
they're being made even more powerful
I guess that's great strong arms are
already in the metaphor some bills i'm
not sure why this was felt necessary to
be changed but I guess we'll see if we
now see even more strong arms now one
change i'm pretty happy about is that
the barber is possibly coming back now
so patch 2.4 point 3 and the PTR
introduced the barber as a witch doctor
item that created in an entirely new
spirit brush which doctor build and we
had a full video on that breaking it
down and I was convinced that it would
be nervous it was overpowered it was
performing like 20 greater risk levels
above anything else and you will be
nerve but I thought it would still be
made viable unfortunately blizzard over
nerf it the steerage buildings and not
at all come into the meta but this this
may be the change necessary to make this
a viable build this is also tooling with
the mantle heal a bit lighting Wizards
are very much in fashion now and they
already have quite a good degree of
variety however the issue with with
wizards is that our Khan is too powerful
and even if you're not using the Archon
sets of ears set arcon is still used in
basically every endgame wizard built i
know there are variants that don't use
Archon but they're not going to be as
powerful that's overseeing it was a lot
of variety and lightning Wizards but
this changed the mantle deal will
potentially add even more variety which
is never unwelcome but I'm a little
puzzled as to why bullshit even
bothering with
this specific change the item it will be
interesting to see how and whether this
changes anything in the meta we've got
some changes to adventure mode so
previously if you want to join a public
game you had to meet certain paragon
level requirements
they're doing away with that and other
putting stricter requirements on solo
greater rift that you have to complete
before you can join a a torment game of
that difficulty now i remember in the
early days of Reaper of souls leaching
was a big problem
it wasn't as easy for people to carry
back then but nowadays caring is pretty
easy so I don't think leaching is as big
of a problem then again i barely play
public games anymore but I mean this
isn't a bad change this way if you're
playing with friends you can still power
level that's no problem doesn't affect
you in any way and it does make sense to
try to funnel people into the right
difficulty bracket not everyone is
deliberately reaching some people just
don't know what difficulty they should
be tackling some new players think it's
normal to take 30 minutes to finish a
rift we have some changes to some of the
set dungeons which will really go over
there but a big and very welcome change
bonus act bonus acts have been removed
now basically every act is always a
bonus act for any active duty to get the
same rewards all-in-one Roger cash as
you would have in the to the normal end
of the bonus one you know what I find
most funny about this is about 20 days
ago on reddit someone posted a question
asking why our bonus boundaries even a
thing
so as far as i remember when boundaries
are introduced to the game on launch of
reproof souls there were two reasons to
do those one that was you actually
needed something called rift fragment to
open regular risks and you've got those
from bounty bags second you got certain
items like the ring of oil grandeur only
from bounty bags and that remains true
to this day
so what would happen you would have five
acts of bounties but then you would just
have people doing act one to get the
ring of oil grandeur because all the
other items are useless and then people
would do act for just for the rift
Keystone fragments
and basically once you got your royal
grandeur you'd stop doing act 1 and you
just do act for and the reason is that
act for had the shortest the quickest
bounties so as a means of encouraging
players to do every single act in the
game the lizard introduced the concept
of the bonus act now doing the bonus
that gives you double rewards and so
this effectively stop people from just
doing X 1 and X 4 counties were thing
that people never enjoyed doing so they
realized by doing the bonus acts you get
more key stone fragments and therefore
you can spend more time and risks and
less time doing boundaries then at some
point blizzard removed Keystone
fragments thank God and they introduced
bounty materials which was a really good
move
Danny materials were a stroke of genius
now we have reason to do every single
act because we have cube recipes that
need every single County material and
then taking away risky cell fragments it
didn't matter we still needed to do all
the bounties in fact there is no longer
a reason really to prefer one act to
another apart from getting the ring of
oil grandeur but in the big picture you
want to be doing all five acts and you
want to be doing them equally so that
you always have the same number of value
material from every act
the problem is that they retained the
bonus axis system which at that point
had become antiquated the bonus axis was
a system that incentivized us to do
every act in the game instead of just
farm one act but now they just had a
mechanic in there that made us want to
do that anyway
now this might not seem like a big deal
to have these bonus sex but the problem
is in public games now this is a bigger
problem in the past but in public games
people tended to turn in the wrong Act
split bounty farming is the most
effective way to do bounties everyone
goes off
does the quest on their own but then if
the acts are not completed in the right
order and then the turnings don't happen
in the right order
you basically screwed up everything and
this made people livid back in the day I
remember in public games happened all
the times and it was so annoying and it
was mostly because people didn't know
that the bonus acts were a new thing
people were not aware
nowadays it's better but it's still
happen
and there's no reason through this whole
thing to exist which is what makes it so
kind of frustrating so and it's reddit
thread it was supposed why not just do
away with bonus acts and someone's
reason against it boiled down to well
then people are going to QQ they're
going to complain that we're not getting
a bonus for doing things anymore
we're getting less materials so I
propose a solution to this while just
remove the bounties and double the drop
rate and it looks like that's exactly
what blizzard is doing and I think this
is a great change
alright let's take an in-game look at
some of these features now starting with
the armory we see here new features new
in patch 2.5 the armory the crafting
materials tab
alright so we're in game now we're
seeing that this right here access your
crafting materials right from your
inventory screen look at that beautiful
it's all listed right there let's go
take a look at our stash see what's
there now typically this was my captain
materials it's still here so looks like
the gems are still there
what this puts is the battery materials
as well as the crafting materials so
James will stay I thought just going to
go in there as well that's fine I
actually understand yeah you would want
to put James and because James are
useful for other things but now let's
see how that interact with the hajj or
cube run tonight on Ice Cube I'm sorry
so let's say we want to reforge let's
get let's reforge this amplicor ass here
will click this all right looks like you
actually want to pick the recipe first
let's say I want to extract the power
i'm going to put this in here i'm gonna
hit Phil and it's going to autofill from
my inventory there look at that
beautiful it even tells you know you
don't have enough
ariat war Kappas trees that's astounding
how do I not have any area war campus
but this is so creative community now
you have to go to your stash pull out
the materials and now auto fills them
even just that would have been great
now where is that armory let's go find
it is it right here yes it is look at
this look at this wardrobe function
we're going to cook and we're going to
see what happens
so it opens up you can save a total of
five builds / character now this is not
store your items in here there's still
stored in your stash so let's try saving
this load out right here we're on a more
water bills we're going to hit save
armor set when we can name it so much
rother built it okay there we go look at
that details
it saves all that fantastic you got your
little preview and hit close on that ok
are other 14 MP so now we're going to do
is we're gonna quickly equipped a
different build let's put on the Sun
hallowed and we won't even fully
equipped we're just going to change some
of the items asked to see what happens
what happens if you have shared items
between the bills so we'll leave it at
that we're leaving are on our six piece
on hallowed and let's change some of our
skills here just seemingly at random
click on things things that just don't
make any sense here whatever
alright we made a few changes we're now
going to save this set all right on
hallowed essence hit ok now we're going
to click back to our first build we're
going to hit equipped and look at that
it all gets changed and what just
happened there that we just get some
free gems what just happened there i
gotta look at the playback
how did it did it kick the gems it
kicked two gems out of the gear we had
equipped interesting interesting
ok so we're going to try swapping back
now we're gonna see what's gonna happen
all all of our skills going back to
normal we're going to go back now to our
halloween equipment and look at that it
does the gems as well it kicks out the
gems for you beautiful beautiful
uh we forgot to change some legendary
legendary James but presumably the same
thing would happen i think this
demonstration of the same thing what
happened with the legendary James so
that's fantastic this is an amazing
feature and I wish this would have come
a lot sooner but super grateful for this
this is a game changer
this way you can have you know your
greater if pushing build your support
build your speed farming build
or I'm trying out something entirely
different build and look at this little
diamond thing whatever you want to call
this little Ruby shows you which you
currently have equipped this is a great
interface this was executed very well
and what's what's most remarkable about
all this is that the foundations of this
feature were made by one loose employee
on his day off basically the dev team
took like one day where the like okay
guys we're gonna we're gonna take a
break from the grind work on whatever
projects you want to work on and one guy
working by himself basically made this
entire system you know it's since been
polished up but he laid the groundwork
for this and this is gonna make build
swapping so much easier after primal
legendaries this is what a primal
legendary looks like and I'm not love
into the red I like that sort of border
at the top looks menacing and stuff with
the red i'm not fond of hopefully this
isn't set in stone I don't know it looks
a little a little too garish maybe some
kind of like cool molten lava a border
that's kind of like a modification of
the existing ancient border I don't know
what do you guys think about it or even
if they just made it look like blood
running down stone or something at it's
mostly just besides that are super read
that I'm not loving and lastly let's
look at the map which is our bonus act
no bonus at guys they're gone
good riddens families have been updated
complete a set of bounties and any act
to unlock a large Roger chest full of
awards now the start of this video I
said I was flabbergasted and this a
couple reasons for that one was that
were getting these these much wanted
features the second was the the ancient
ancient but the third was how quickly we
got this PTR we're not even a month into
the season folks and there's not a whole
lot of stuff to test right now maybe for
bug testing but not really for balance
testing so i suspect that over the
course of the PTR and where were
expecting you're estimating that the
currencies will last in total three
months it might be shorter like the
previous season but if it is a full
three months I
would not be surprised to see more
balance changes coming I think they just
want to let the big stuff out first and
maybe in a week or two they're going to
start adding in some other balance
changes there's been speculation that
season 10 will be a big metal shake-up
even if there is no just these new
features are fantastic but if we're
still at least two months away from a
new season it does seem odd that they're
putting the PGR this early with so
little to really balance test so that
wraps up this video folks thanks for
watching and leave a comment with your
thoughts on all this
are you excited for this new patch if
