Hope you're all doing great!

Welcome to another Weekly Cubing Topicals!

Quickly before we start, just wanted to let you guys know that if you're interested

in checking out some stuff that I'm working on cubing wise and also some other updates

and what you can expect for this channel in the next couple months or so, then check out

the description where I've put a bunch of notes, updates and a couple other bits and

bots down there.

Moving on to the actual topic that I wanted to talk about though, is there such thing

as a beginner speedcube and if so what makes a good one?

So in my personal opinion there is no such thing as a beginner or professional speedcube.

However, I do think that there are certain aspects of a cube that would make it more

suited for different people with different levels of experience.

Now the biggest aspect I think that would make a cube a better choice for beginners

is the price.

Don't get me wrong, I do not believe that a cheaper cube is necessarily a worse choice

because the performance is not up to par with more expensive options, nor do I believe that

beginners need to start with a cube that doesn't perform as well as others.

I think that in most cases, you are getting what you pay for, but almost every cube designed

for speed, regardless whether they are the flagship for the company or a more budget

friendly cube, the cube is really not going to affect your times by much at all unless

you're averaging under 10 seconds and every millisecond counts.

Also, as for people who think that beginners should start with cubes that are worse, performance

wise, I see where you're coming from but I don't agree with that statement just because

if the technology is here then why worry about the problems of the past.

But going back to my original point, price is an aspect of a cube that I think would

make a cube more or less suitable for a beginner.

The reason I say that is because if you're just starting out and you don't know whether

you want to get into the hobby or not, then I think it's better to spend less rather

than more.

Now the second aspect that I think should be considered in finding an ideal option for

a beginner is performance, but right out of the box.

The reason for this point is pretty self explanatory.

Most beginners might not have their hands on lube yet and in the nicest way possibly,

won't be able to set up a cube very well right from the get go so a cube that's pretty

good right out of the box would be preferable.

At the end of the day though, and you've probably heard me say this before if you've

watched a couple of my other videos; regardless of what cube you pick up, the cube isn't

gonna make you a great speedcuber.

You have to put the time in to practice and keep learning new skills to improve yourself

and your times will get better gradually.

But yeah, that's my opinion on this topic.

A Tour of 5 Strangest Planets In Space

Space is incredibly odd.

You would be forgiven for thinking that every planets out there is similar, simply a big

ball of rock and gas that orbiting the stars, however some planets are incredibly more unique

than that.

Here's the top 5 strangest planets in the known universe, that appear like they belong

in some strange science fiction series.

1.

Planet TrES-2b

It is located 750 light years away from our planetary system.

As far as we know it is officially the darkest planet in the entire universe.

It reflects less than 1% of all light that strikes it, making it substantially darker

than most of recognized exoplanets.

Its ominously dark surface can be partially explained by the light absorbent gasses that

make up the bulk of the world.

Researchers don't actually understand for sure why it is so dark.

But it gets creepier, not only does this wicked looking ball of gas not reflect any light,

it in fact shines a molten red colour, as if it's a hot ball of coal on a fire.

The surface of the planets is around 1,100 degrees Celsius, which is so hot that it glows

red.

Really, this planet is nothing but dark.

In fact it sparkles luminescent in space, similar to a diamond.

In fact, it is an enormous gigantic diamond.

2.

Planet 55 Cancri e

Yes that's right this planet named 55 Cancri e is about two times the size of earth and

a third of it is made up of strong diamond.

The planet is extremely carbon heavy, it is so dense that carbon is in the form of strong

diamond.

But don't get too thrilled, this planet of a diamond is found a magnificent 40 light

years away from Earth.

Well, even if you could travel that far and obtain the unlimited supply of diamonds the

planet can provide.

Considering the abundant of diamond on the planet, even only a minute fraction of it

back to Earth would totally overwhelm the diamond supply and therefore make diamonds

totally worthless.

So I think this beautiful world is best if appreciated from afar.

As for another fact, In 2008 we've sent a message from Earth straight at Gliese 581

c and it is anticipated to reach the planet in 2029.

Planet WASP-17b

This planet located at Scorpius constellation.

Well, thing what makes this giant planet so peculiar is exactly its shear size.

It is 1.9 times the size of Jupiter, which is make it the largest planet in our planetary

system.

The planet is so large that theoretically it should not exist in the first place.

Scientists stated the size of the planet breaks the laws of how big a planet can actually

get.

With an amazingly big size, the planet actually has an extermely low density.

Therefore, this planet is included as an extremely special class of planets called puffy planets,

yes that's actually a clinical term if you know about it.

Puffy planets are a series of planets with an extremely large radius and an extremely

low density for their size.

Well, that's not all that makes WASP-17b so strange.

Also a fact that this planet has a retrograde orbit, which means it turns in an opposite

direction to its host star.

Planet HD 188753 Ab

If you remember that Luke Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine in Star Wars had two suns,

you will be more amazed to learn about this planet.

Well, reality can be much more incredible than science fiction.

The planet with 149 light-years away from Earth is a planet with not one, not two, but

3 suns.

This three star planet sits within the triple star system HD 188753.

If you could reside on this planet you would experience triple shadows, and consistent

eclipses as its threes parent stars cross each other's courses.

In addition, you would see the strangest and most gorgeous shutdowns and day breaks in

the universe.

Planet Kepler 438b

The planet 470 light years away form Earth is a planet discovered by the Kepler Space

observatory.

This planet is really unusual, not since it has any severe features like other planets

we've talked about, rather it is the exact opposite.

This planet is the most Earth-like planet we have actually ever discovered until now.

Well, The Earth Similarity Index is a standard measure of how similar to Earth another planet

is.

Showing a score of 1 being identical to Earth in every way, and 0 being nothing like Earth.

Kepler-438b boasts an impressive Earth Resemblance Index of 0.88, which make this planet incredibly

rare and extremely special.

Being found in January 2015, this planet has all the right pre-requisites for alien life.

Most significantly it is a rocky planet, like Earth and its proximity to its host star puts

it in exactly what researchers call the Goldilocks zone, which is the holy grail of space exploration.

The Goldilocks zone is when a world is not too near its parent star that it's too hot

for life, yet not too far away that it's too cold.

Water is important to life, where there's water, there's the probability of life, however

in order to have complex life there has to be liquid water in the planet, which most

of the time can just occur in the Goldilocks zone.

In short, this rocky planet located in the Goldilocks zone is most likely to have liquid

water, and therefore life.

That makes it among the strangest and most fascinating exoplanets we have ever discovered.
