what's up everybody this is regular
cuber and this is the three by three
Rubik's Cube tutorial for beginners very
basic concept that you must understand
about the rubik's cube before we begin
firstly is the colors in relation to one
another white will always be opposite to
yellow orange will always be opposite to
red and blue will always be opposite it to
green
secondly it's the pieces of the Rubik's
Cube you must understand this is the
center piece it will always be the center
no matter how you move the rubiks cube
this is the edge piece it has two colors to
it and this is the corner piece it has
three colors to it
the first things i always do is to find
the white center piece and make this my top
so just have it facing upwards like that
and what you want to do is to make a
white cross with the edge pieces don't
focus on the corner pieces right now
they are not important for this step at
first glance you might think we have the
start of the white cross here but if you
look at the edge piece color it does not
match with the center piece color for
example this is orange and this is green
they do not match you want the edge
piece color to match with the center so an
easy fix when the white is facing up
like this on the top is to rotate the top
layer until the edge piece matches with
the centerpiece color and we know that
it is in the correct place because orange
matches with the orange center here
we have a white and red so we know that
this red piece will go where the Red
Centre is so just rotate the bottom
layer until it's directly underneath the
red centerpiece there we go the White is
directly underneath where we want it to
go and the red edge piece matches with
the red Center when the white piece is
facing down like this to get it onto this
layer here you just rotate the
centerpiece down once then rotate the
bottom layer a hundred and eighty
degrees in either direction and now it
will be right here and now you just
bring the center piece back up and there
you have it you have the red matching
with the Red Centre here we have the
white with green so we obviously know that
this Green piece will go where the green
centerpiece is and when the white piece is
facing you on this bottom layer like
this to get it onto the top right here
you just rotate the bottom layer once to
the left bring the centerpiece down
and now bring it back to the right the
bottom layer and now it will be right here now
just bring the centerpiece back up now
you have the green edge piece matching
with the green center here we have the
white with blue so we know that will go
where the blue center piece is
so when it's facing you like this you
can just rotate it down and then turn
the bottom layer either left or right
and now where you turn it down you want
to make sure you bring it back up so
that you don't screw up the edge piece
here see when I i turn it back up
I corrected the edge piece so now that
white piece should be facing the bottom
like this so just rotate it directly underneath
where you want it to go and
exactly like i said before when the
white piece is facing down like this to
get onto this layer you just rotate the
center down rotate the bottom layer
hundred eighty degrees in either
direction and now it will be right here now
just bring the centerpiece back up and
now you should have the white cross with
all the matching edge pieces
the next step is the solve for
the white corner pieces and you want to
make sure that the edge pieces match up
with their center piece
so at first glance you might think that
this white pieces is in the correct place
but if we look at the edge pieces
we will know that it is not in the
correct place red matches with its
center piece here but blue does not match
with the center piece of green here so we
obviously know that this corner piece
has to go right here so that blue will
match up with its centerpiece and red
will match up with its centerpiece
so when it's on the very top like this
just rotate it once down and then once
to the left and where you turn it down
make sure you bring it back up and now
it will be on this layer here now just
move that white piece directly underneath where you
want it to be so the red matches up with
its centerpiece and blue matches up with
the centerpiece and the white is
directly underneath where I want to
place it and now when it's on the right
hand side like this
the white pieces on the right-hand side
you move it once to the opposite
direction so since it's on the right
move it once to the left bring where it was
down bring that white piece back over and
then bring it back up now you'll have that
corner piece solved with the red matching its
centerpiece and blue matching its
centerpiece now we have a white with a
orange and blue
so we obviously know that will go in
this corner piece here since orange will
match with this Center and blue will match
with its center so just move this white
piece directly underneath the corner
where you want to place it so right there
and since its on the right-hand side move it once to the
left bring where it was down bring it
back over and bring it up now you'll
have the white with blue and orange and
when you have a white on the very
bottom like this just move it directly
underneath the corner piece where you
want to place it
so this has orange green and orange so it's already
in the correct place where we want to
place it because we want to right there
so just move it once down turn it a hundred
eighty degrees either direction where we
turn it down make sure you bring it back
up and now it will be on this layer
here now just bring this white piece
directly underneath the corner where you want
to place it so that white piece is directly
underneath the corner I want to place it
and since its on the left hand side this time move it
once to the right bring where it was down bring
that white piece back over and bring it up now
you have the white with the green and
orange now we just have the one
remaining piece here
so when is on the top like this just
rotate it once down and turn it to the
left once and where you turn it down make
sure you bring it back up and now it
will be on the very bottom layer like
this and now just move this white piece
directly underneath where you want to
place it so we want to directly
underneath here
there we go the white is directly
underneath where we want to place it and
just do what we did before
once down 180 degrees and bring
where you turn it down bring it back up
now it will be on this layer and then just
place this white piece directly
underneath the corner piece where you
want to place it right there and since its on
the left-hand side move it once to the right
bring where it was down bring that white piece
back over and bring it up and there you
have it you have the first layer solved
red opposite of orange greens opposite of
blue
the next step is to solve for the middle
layer here with white facing up you want
to look for the edge piece without
yellow so I'm not concerned about this
piece because these are corner pieces
just the edge piece so this is orange
and yellow so I don't want this one blue
and red perfect so just move this piece so it
matches with its center so move it to
the blue and now that blue piece matches with the
center and beneath this blue piece here you
want to look at that color red and what
you want to do is move in the opposite direction
of that color since red is to the left
of it you want to move it to the right
move it once to the right and then you
want to bring down the opposite side
since we moved it to the right bring down
the left bring the lower layer back over
and then bring it up and what this has
done is it will displaced the corner
piece but it's directly underneath where
we want it to be so just move it back
over so since its on the right bring it to the left
bring it down bring it back over and
bring it up
I now just repeat that exact same step
so look for the edge piece without
yellow so there we go green and orange
move this piece so it matches with its center so green
there and look at the bottom color it is
orange move it to the opposite direction
of that color so since orange is to the left
move it once to the right since we move
it to the right bring down the left
bring it back over then bring it up and
it will have displaced the corner piece and
then just replace that corner piece so since its
on the right bring it the left bring it
down bring it back over and bring it up
and then just repeat that exact same
step so here's a red piece with
blue or I mean
Green sorry so move this red piece so it
matches with its center
there we go and since it has green on it move it to
the opposite direction so since
Green is to the left move it once to
the right and bring down the opposite
side so the left bring it back over and
bring it up and then you just want to
re-fix this corner piece here once to the
left bring it down bring it back over and bring it up
now you should have the second layer
solved when you come to the second layer
and if every edge piece has yellow just
like this does here what you want to do is
have the middle layer here you want to
find the color that doesn't match for
example here and you want it so it faces
your left just like this now what you
want to do is turn the bottom once to the
right
bring the left down once bring the bottom
back over to the left and then bring the
left
back up and now you just want to
reinsert this corner piece and since
it's on the right hand side move it once to the
left bring it down bring it back over
and bring it up and now what you should
have is you should have a edge piece
without yellow and then you do the exact
same steps as before what I just taught
you so since this is blue move it to the
blue side and then since this has red move it in the
opposite direction of red since red is on
the left-hand side move it once to the
right since you moved it to the right
bring down the left bring it back over
and bring it up now just reinsert this
corner piece
and you should have the second layer now
solved
the next step is to form a yellow cross
and there are four scenarios that you
may have right now you may have the
yellow center dot like this you may have
the L-shape you may have the horizontal
line or you may already have the yellow
cross and if you do you can just skip
this next step so when you have the
yellow center dot like this you can
hold the Rubik's cube in any direction
and these yellow here they don't matter
this is not a pattern it's just the
yellow Center dot that we are concerned
with so hold it in any direction as long
as it's facing up and do the following
algorithm turn the face to the right
bring up the right turn the top left
bring the right turn the top to the
the right and bring these three whites
down and now you should have the L shape
like this
ignore this yellow it doesn't matter
what is important is how you hold the
rubik's cube have the one yellow facing you
and have the other yellow so its pointing
to the right exactly like this and do
the exact same algorithm turn the face
to the right bring up the right turn the
top to the left bring down the right turn
the top to the right and bring these three
whites down now you should have a yellow
horizontal line just like this in the
center and you want to hold it so its
horizontal so ones to the left and one is to the
right exactly like this and you may have
a yellow here or yellow here but those
don't matter as long as you have a
horizontal line in the middle like this
and do the exact same algorithm turn the
face to the right bring up the right turn
the top to left bring down the right turn
the top to the right and bring these
three whites down and now you should
have the yellow cross like this
the next step is to get the edge pieces
to match up with their center
piece and now you should have at
least two that will match up so just
rotate it and see which two will match up
so I got a blue that matches with this
center piece and a red patches with its
center piece
so this one doesn't match and this one
doesn't match so what you want to do in
this case is you want to have the
incorrect one face you and the other
incorrect one directly to your right and
now there is another case that you may
have or you have a correct one here and
a correct one directly opposite to it here
and how you would hold it is have the
correct one face you and then do this
algorithm i'm going to show you but for
this case I have an
incorrect facing me an incorrect
one directly to the right now you want
to do this algorithm bring up the right
turn the top twice to the left bring down
the right and turn the top once the right
bring up the right turn the top once to
the right and bring down the right and
now you should have more than one in
the correct place there we go those match
that matches and that matches this is the
case i was just talking about where you
have an edge that matches with its
center piece and directly opposite to
that the edge piece matches with its
center piece color and then to the left
the edge piece does not match and to the right
the edge piece does not match so hold it exactly like
this so that the correct one faces you
and the other correct one is facing the
back now do the exact same algorithm as
before
bring up the right turn the top twice
left bring down the right turn the top
right once bring up the right turn the
top once right and bring down the right
and what this should have given you is the
case that we had before where you have
a correct
one and a correct one so hold it
exactly how i showed you before so the
incorrect one is facing you and directly
to the right the other incorrect one is
facing the right just like this now
bring up the right turn the top twice left
bring down the right turn the top to
the right bring up the right turn the top
once to the right and bring down the
right now just rotate it and now all edge
pieces should be matching with their
center piece
the next step is to get all the corner
pieces in the correct corner they don't
necessarily need to be facing the right
direction but they do need to be in the
right corner so let's take a look and
see if we have any in the right corner
so this one has green and it matches with this
center piece and red which doesn't match
with this so this is not in the correct
corner we have blue which matches with
this center piece and red which does not
match so this is not in the correct corner
we have orange which doesn't match here or
here so this is not in the correct
corner we have orange here which doesn't
match here or here so we do not have any
in the correct corner right now so what
you want to do is you can hold it in any
direction just have the yellow cross facing
up and do the following algorithm lift
up the left turn the top to the left bring up
the right turn the top once to the right
bring down the left turn the top to the
left bring down the right and turn the
top to the right and now you should have
one corner piece that is in the correct
corner so right here I can see we have
green which matches with this
center piece and red which matches with
this center piece
so this is in the correct corner and like
I said before it doesn't need to be
facing the right direction
as long as it's in the right corner and
this is red and this is blue so this is
not in the correct corner we have green and orange
so this is not in the correct corner and
orange and blue
so this is not in the correct corner so we have
one that's in the correct corner and in
general you will either have zero
in the correct corner or one or all four
that's a little trick so when you have
one in the correct corner have it so it's
facing you and it's to the right exactly
like this so this one is in the correct
corner and I'm going to hold it so it's
facing me and it's to the right and
do the exact same algorithm lift up the
left turn the top to the left bring up the
right turn the top once to the right bring
down the left turn the top left once
bring down the right and turn the top to
the right and now we have green and red
this matches here and it matches there
so this is in the correct corner we have orange which
matches here and green which matches
here so this is in the correct corner we have
blue which matches with its center piece and
orange which matches this centerpiece
and blue which matches with the
center piece and red which matches
this center piece so all of them are in the
correct corner and sometimes you have to
do that algorithm that I just did two or
three times before they are in the correct corner
but just keep doing it until they're all
in the right place
for this case we have a yellow here and
yellow directly opposite to it here how
you want to hold it is exactly like
this have the one yellow face you on the
right side like this and the other one
facing the back now just to the
following algorithm lift up the right turn the
top twice left bring down the right
turn the top to the right bring up the right turn the top
once right bring down the right lift up the left
turn the top twice left bring down the left turn the top
left bring up the left turn the top left and
bring down the left and now you should
have two yellows on the side just like
this and i'll show you how to solve that
right now for this case we have two
yellows on the same side like this and
what you want to do is have them so they
face the right-hand side like that now
you want to perform the same algorithm
lift up the right turn the top twice to the
left bring down the right turn the top to
the right bring up the right turn the top
top once to the right bring down the
right lift up the left turn the top
twice to the left
bring down the left turn the top once to
the left bring up the left turn the
top once to the left and bring down the left
and now it should be solved for this one you
have two yellow on the side corner
pieces here and directly opposite to it
you have two yellows on the side so hold it so
that neither face you just like that so ones to the
the left and ones to the right and
now you do the same algorithm as before
lift up the right
turn the top twice left, bring down the right
turn the top to the right, bring up the right
turn the top once to the right bring down
the right lift up the left turn the top
twice left bring down the left
turn the top to the left, bring up the left turn
the top to the left and bring down the
left and now you should have two yellows
on the side like this without two
yellows on the side on either side and I
already showed you how to do this one so
just go back to that step For this one we have a
yellow here and a yellow directly opposite to
it here and two yellows on the side just like this
have these two yellows face the right-hand
side like that and do the same algorithm
that we've been doing lift up the right
turn the top twice left bring down the
right turn the top to the right bring up
the right turn the top once right bring
down the right lift up the left turn the top
twice left bring down the left turn the top left
bring up the left turn the top to the
left and bring down the left and now you
should have a yellow here and a yellow
here without yellow on the side and now
I already showed you how to do this one
so just go back to that part in the
video For this case we have a yellow here a yellow here
and a yellow on the other side there
so hold the Rubik's cube so that the completed
corner yellow is on the left like this
then you should have one facing your
right hand side and now just do the
same algorithm that we've been doing lift up
the right turn the top twice to the left bring down
the right turn the top to the right bring up
the right turn the top once to the right
bring down the right lift up the left
turn the top twice left, bring down the left
turn the top to the left bring up the
left turn the top to the left and bring down the
left and now you should have a yellow
here and on the other corner a yellow
there now don't move the rubik's cube have
the one yellow on the right-hand side
like that and do the exact same algorithm lift up the
right turn the top twice to left bring down
the right turn the top to the right bring up
the right turn the top once right bring down
the right lift up the left turn the top twice left
bring down the left turn the top to the left
bring up the left turn the top to the left and bring down
the left now you should have two yellows
on the side like this and just hold
them so that they're facing the
right-hand side like that and the exact
same algorithm once more to solve lift up
the right turn the top twice left bring down the right
turn the top to the right bring up the
right turn the top once right bring down the
right lift up the left turn the top twice
left bring down the left turn the top left
bring up the left turn the top to the left and bring
down the left now it should be solved for
this case you have a completed yellow in
the lower left corner and when you're
holding it like this you'll have a yellow
facing the right you'll have a yellow
facing the back and you'll have a yellow
facing the left so hold it exactly like
this and do the same algorithm we've
been doing
lift up the right turn the top twice left
bring down the right turn the top to the right
bring up the right turn the top once to the
right bring down the right lift up
the left turn the top twice left bring down
the left turn the top left bring up the
left turn the top to the left and bring down
the left and now you should have the very first
case that I showed you where you have a yellow here
and yellow directly opposite to it so
just go back to that part of the video
to see how to solve it
your rubik's cube should now be solved
