Newton's Third Law of Motion

Aim

To verify Newton's Third Law of Motion using two spring balances

Materials Required

Spring balance of 5 N, Spring balance of 10 N and Iron stand.

Take the spring balance of 5 N. Attach one end of the spring balance to the iron stand.

Take the other spring balance of 10 N.

Attach it to the hook of the first spring balance. Hold it exactly horizontal to the

table for viewing the reading of both the balances.

Apply a force on the second spring balance. Note the reading of both the spring balances.

Force exerted by second spring balance on the first (F21) is the action force. At the

same time the force exerted by the first spring balance on the second (-F12) is the reaction force.

Tabulate the observations

Gently increase the force to 3 N and note it down in the observation column.

Repeat the experiment for 4 N and 5 N.

Tabulate the observations.

It is observed that both action force (F21) and reaction force (-F12) are equal and opposite .

So ( F21 = -F12). Hence Newton's Third Law is verified.

Helping Children with Olodum - GetYourWings [Intro + Outro] - Duration: 3:24.

My name is Antonio Carlos Seu Santana.

I was born and raised here in Pelourinho, Bahia, Brazil.

I was a student from Master Prego, and Neguinho do Samba,

which is two of the many founders of the band Olodum,

that has is worldwide recognized.

On the 14th of March, 2000,

I decided to create this project called "Tambores e Cores" (Drums and Colors)

and it was something that I did because I had faith and believed that the project could show these kids

that you see around me

that we are here not only to play drums,

but we are also creating better citizens for our communities

My focus is to help them turn into strong men and women for the uncertain outcomes of life

For us it is important for them to be in school, studying.

Since I do not have any governmental sponsorship,

the sponsorship I have is the one that you see here from the money we collect from the basket of 1 Reais, 2 Reais,

or 5 Reais with our drum presentation. With this money I buy them water and I also prepare these kids lunch.

When someone becomes interest in my social project we go to special events,

such as weddings for example.

I also do conferences about the story of my life, for the younger generation, and I am a music teacher.

Here with have a mixture of Argentinians, French, and even South Koreans,

that do not come only after our drum hits, but also after our sympathy, happiness and simplicity

that we dedicate to respect the people next to us.

With this way I am able to continue, thanks God, to show you this what you are seeing here

I would like to thank you for the opportunity, and I hope that you guys are able to see us

more time here.
