hello and welcome welcome to the day's
livestream tutorial today we're going to
be drawing rave Jack from samurai jack
like a so the way i got started with it
as you can see I've already done started
with a bit of a rough draft of these
proposed that we're going to be doing so
what I started with i started with a
head or the proposed this is from is
from like when Jack stars to breakdance
or whatever so this is sort of like a
simple pose so I noticed that in the
pose that he's doing like like there's
there's like straight big piece that
goes from his elbow to the Bombers like
so that's that's what I started with
just started with the first line with
Allah through the head first into a line
for this point of his elbow is a
write-up right elbow to his left leg so
that's the first thing i did and then at
your line
let's go that's going under the head
here and then go straight across and
that's going to be whereas other arms
are going to be down here I made a
little box here that's gonna be like
where's torso will be and then I drew
his other leg here it's going to be
fence and with that I got a general idea
about what what the post going to be and
now I start adding on the meaty parts
start starting his torso
oh here i have the top end of his butt
of his torso under its head because he's
facing a little bit towards us and then
his lower bot lower half of the torso is
bents
and it comes a little forward he's got
that and torso here and adding a little
thickness to his legs so for making a
little boxy at first but later Allah
sort of add a little bit of fabric come
curves later gonna add a little hand the
way I do it is I just don't like a
little box for his hand and then add the
fingers
ok we're adding to the other are
then adding a little box here for his
hand
ok then next thing I did is I added like
that the top of the Hat here because
he's at an angle because we're looking
somewhat above him so I'm adding like a
bit of the hat covering covering just a
little bit of his eyes here where's God
was going to be for later and that since
i'm following the guidelines of the head
here that I just true the sides of the
Hat little just above just around like
the edges of the heavier that I just
true and then still following the head
shape that i already true
oh wait forgot to add a little plus this
little plus here on the head will help
be my guideline had to find out where
the eyes will be so i'll give him up
pretty a rather big hand very tough shit
maybe i'll make ya make it move up the
hats a little bit ahead is exactly on is
uh I line so it will be covering up his
eyes
ok
and the eyes here and put guards around
that that's where the goggles you get
the goggles by simply just adding two
circles and just connecting them

now we're going to add his nose
and then adding a little circle here
this is gonna be his little pinky and
then a little square here to that pinky
that's the part of the binky that's a
sort of loose looks like it's got a
little change to its
okay with that I'm god I'm going up for
first I need to fix before I work on
like the clothing here need to work add
a bit of muscle here
so moving from like the hand placement
i'll draw i draw the muscles around and
then slowly put together a working
structure
because this arm is up where at where
he's also showing a bit of like that
shoulder muscles moving upwards a little
bit skiing be going to be higher than
the shoulder monsters down here okay and
I'm it's weird like little section here
was like so the armpit and we go okay
from there were going to add a bit of
abs here
now the reason why I'm going so heavily
on the detail for at least first chest
area is because the outfit that he wears
is it's very thin very loose so it
doesn't cover too much of this upper
chest so that's why I'll like also leave
the adding the clothing after when I
figured out where like them is his chest
and abs gonna be like little rolls here
he's gonna just going to be able to pay
for his belly button is going to be and
from that I can move back over here to
his other arm slowly add the mussels
okay not that without to his pants away
actually just above here right where his
midsection is like we're going to have
some exposed boxers he's wearing he's
wearing very loosely fitted jeans i'm
going to make these pants a little more
bag here we got to bring up the live

say the shirts
it has two shirts takes off it somehow
so be it i remember that pose that that
because this the top section is moving
forward and its lower section is
slightly above us
I'm having the outfits somewhat like
turn in the same direction
a little whole sections for for his arms
to be let out
then adding a the collar of his t-shirt
and just adding a little section here of
t-shirt left
ok
ok and move back up here just add the
little lines
he's got a bit of a cat in the hat types
type of hat forgot to add his ears and
then add just behind here is little
sword have exposed a little bit here we
go
showing the sheath down here
and added a little details or no it's
actually diamonds

gonna fix the handle bits make it look
more round

ok and with that we get started on oh
wait wait i forgot this little detail
here stripes that comes across as shirts
and just to make sure there's nothing
else I think he does have like a little
backpack here but I can't tell
so just a little something here
ok
and with that we are good i can't i'll
start by using my dick tip sharpie to do
the outline of the strong
since we're in the part of the video
where there's not much for me to say
it's more like just me just going over
everything that I've already drawn for

the little diamonds to his sword

handle of a sword i'm gonna do some
racing like to see what i have and

or that's not this isn't a t-shirt it's
actually a it's like a sleeveless jacket
I think that's what it's called
oh yes and need to add a little tone a
bit of toning here shadow for some
dimension on is on the backside here are
just using single lines that curve
h-here to his face like he's probably
like and i forget what age how old
samurai jack actually is he said it is
not is not that all that is not too
young as well as at least maybe 20 in
his 22nd or thirties
I just filling in that sort here i use
this the martyr just filling this sword

ok and a bit of turning to the lower his
pants see around his pants now I always
seem to like to add owning two sections
that are like under another object like
as you see that's the reason why I tend
to toning on like the inside of the
pants and not unlike the outside
although sometimes i do that as well
it also sort of depends on like how much
filling is on the drawing that sort of
my way of describing like when I say
filling I'm talking about
we're like it is like this because I'm
only working with the pad pencil and ink
to base we fill our drawing you know
instead of where other people would use
color like us some time to use a are
many different patterns to help add a
little something more to a drawing or
like you know we like with a color you
only you know basically skies limit but
with pen and ink ism there's a little
more skill that may be required in order
to help give more attention they will
get more attention to your drawing to
basically to get it get as much
appreciation of a drawing then then that
as much as a color triangle would be
would get
I really cross-hatching to like just as
our armpits
thanks i'm talking between the fingers
here adding the little wrinkle finger
where the wrinkles as you'll see in your
fingers when you bend it to the sections
here

go out a bit of toning here
what to do with this

different pattern here since this
section is like orange a lot of like
it's similar to like how i do stitch
pattern but only on the sections that
are orange

it's running under the chin here
ok let me take a quick look to see if I
missed anything
maybe about a bit of stitching here I
don't know this stitching or actually
like he's got chains on his pants very
hard to tell with at least how how
cheaply drawn the the characters are in
samurai jack
it's hard to tell what is what but well
it's no big deal just fill this here
little bit talking to this backpack okay

maybe out of the shadow over here
