- Has your window of opportunity closed.
(gentle music)
If it's shut down and closed, and now it's closed,
you can't do what you want.
If you ever feel that way,
or if you think that you've lost your chance
or it's too late, or if you've been disappointed that
your changes was five years ago, you can't do it now
because your chance is gone, the window is closed,
here's what you do.
That window, scratch it out.
There is no window of opportunity.
The window of opportunity caused you
to make rash, rapid decisions,
decisions that aren't always the right decisions,
decisions that are based on fear
of was this my last chance?
What if I don't do this, then I'll never
get another change again?
We get really rash and panicked
when we go with the whole window of opportunity.
So here's what you do instead.
Instead, open the window.
Open the window and decide, that doesn't close.
Whoever decided it should close?
It doesn't close.
Instead, leave it open and take small,
consistent steps,
steps that sometimes seem boring
or too small or mundane.
Take them, because they're the steps
that help you to achieve what you want.
They're the steps that help you to get to where you want.
And they're the steps that you'll feel most proud of.
Because it's the small steps that build up,
that help you to achieve what you want.
Those big ones, the really big ones that we dream about
and big ones that we tell ourselves we have to do,
they're not really the ones that do the big work.
The big work is in the small steps.
So open that window of opportunity.
Don't let it close down,
because that doesn't happen.
Not for you that doesn't happen.
Choose to open it.
Choose to take the small, consistent steps
that you need to take.
And it works.
There's no need for disappointment,
no need for it's too late or I've lost my chance.
No you haven't.
So I've got a question for you.
What do you do to keep that window open?
What do you do to help yourself
to take small, consistent steps?
I'd love to hear about it, so comment below.

Thank you for watching,
and I look forward to seeing you back here
next week for another Big-Hearted question.
